About Monique

I am a graduate of Johnson and Wales Culinary Institute in Rhode Island.  I was the recipient of The Cordon Bleu award for culinary excellence in 1994.

A native of upstate New York, I have made Fairfield, Ct my home for over 20 years.

As a busy mother of three, I can typically be found in my kitchen baking and decorating my confection creations.  And when I am not in the kitchen, I can frequently be seen outside with my two dogs; a Bernese Mountain Dog and a St. Bernard.

I began this journey just doing what I love: Baking and decorating cakes.  I make cakes for every occasion! Big or small. I gave my cakes to friends and family then the word spread throughout the community, and The Fairfield Cake Lady was born.

If you had to describe my cakes in a few words, I would say, “home made” and “unique”.  No two cakes are ever the same, aside from the fact that they are all delicious.

When you give someone a cake, it says, “celebrate”.  When you give someone a cake, adult or child, it makes them smile.  So, in some small way, I feel like these desserts bring joy. They will be the centerpiece of your event.

Remember, no one ever remembers what you served for dinner, but THEY ALWAYS REMEMBER DESSERT!
